An injection-molded plastic kit of the German main battle tank Leopard 1A5 in 1:35 scale from Italeri. The model offers a detailed running gear, additional turret armor, side skirts over the running gear, external equipment and a commander figure. The Leopard 1 entered service in the middle of the 1960s and became the backbone of the armored forces of West Germany and of a number of other NATO states during the Cold War. It was armed with the proven 105 mm L7 gun. The A5 version represented a significant modernization: it received a modified turret with a computerized fire control system and a thermal sight, together with additional armor that increased protection against hits. Thanks to that the Leopard 1 kept its combat value in the later years of its service.
Paint and pick out the running gear and the lower parts before you finish the hull. Fit the rubber tracks according to the instructions and attach them with a glue suitable for that material. Apply a primer and the paints with an airbrush, and lay the decals over a gloss coat. Bring the panel lines and the details to life with a wash and create the final weathering with pigments for dust and mud effects. The mottled camouflage comes out well after a fine modulation of the base shade.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
