An injection-molded plastic kit of the West German main battle tank Leopard 1 in the A4 version in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. It is a proven tooling from the brand that faithfully captures the massive shape of the tank, from the tall turret to the long barrel of the 105 mm gun. A commander figure is usually included, and with it the model is easy to bring to life.
The Leopard 1 was a West German main battle tank that bet on mobility and a capable weapon rather than heavy armor. The A4 version of the middle of the 1970s brought a new turret with an improved fire control system. The tank carried the proven 105 mm gun, an MG3 machine gun and a searchlight, weighed around 40 tons and reached up to 65 km/h on the road. For decades the Leopard 1 was the backbone of a number of European armies.
Finish and paint the running gear, the wheels and the lower hull before you close up the hull. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement. Over a primer, spray a Cold War finish — single-color olive, or the later three-color NATO camouflage (green, brown, black). A wash and a paneliner into the engraved lines will bring out the detail, dry-brushing will emphasize the edges and dust pigments will give the running gear realistic weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
