The photo-etched 1:35 Liana leaves type 4 (flora) from Metallic Details are leaves of a climbing liana in 1:35 scale for overgrown scenes in a diorama. It is a scenic accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of climbing liana leaves etched from thin metal sheet for a scene in 1:35 scale. Type 4 is one of the variants in the shape of the leaf in this series; the manufacturer makes several of them, so they can be combined within one scene to give a naturally varied growth instead of a repeated shape. It is not a part for a model but material for a diorama and a vignette.
A climbing plant has to follow the shape of whatever it climbs over and at the same time stay airy. Etched sheet is thin enough in scale and at the same time holds the position into which you bend the leaf. The tendril therefore does not look like a flat strip stuck to a wall but like a plant that really clings to its support. Metal also carries repeated retouching of the paint and stronger patina.
Separate the leaves from the fret and sand the burr away. Prepare the tendrils from thin wire or twisted fiber and glue them onto the wall, the structure or the trunk before you fit the leaves. Give the metal a primer intended for metal, and only then paint with acrylics. For convincing jungle growth use more shades of green, make the individual leaves different and darken some of them into the shade of the growth. Glue the leaves on with cyanoacrylate glue one at a time and turn them in different directions. At the end unify the scene with a glaze and a fine pigment to match the setting.
The package contains photo-etched leaves. Paints, glue and wire for the tendrils are not part of it.
