This 1:35 scale kit from AFV Club represents the late production version of the American LVT-4 amphibious tracked carrier, nicknamed the Water Buffalo. It is an injection-molded plastic model to be assembled and painted. The box contains plastic parts, photo-etched elements, wire, vinyl parts and a decal sheet. The rear ramp can be built either lowered or raised.
The LVT (Landing Vehicle, Tracked) was a family of amphibious carriers used above all by American forces in the Pacific. The LVT-4 version had a hinged rear ramp, which made it easier to load troops and cargo and to put them ashore straight from the water onto the beach. The vehicles carried defensive machine gun armament and played a key part in amphibious landings.
Pay attention to the running gear and the hull tub, which form the backbone of the model. Use liquid cement for plastic and apply a primer before painting. We recommend spraying the colors with an airbrush; washes and pigments suit the weathering and the traces of use in water.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
