This injection-molded plastic kit from the South Korean maker Academy presents the American M113A1 armored personnel carrier in the version committed during the Vietnam War, in 1:35 scale. The set holds plastic parts for the hull, the running gear, the armament and accessories matching that period. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The M113 was a light tracked armored personnel carrier with aluminum armor, one of the most widespread of its kind. The M113A1 version with a diesel engine became a symbol of American mechanized infantry in Vietnam, where the vehicles were often rounded out with additional machine guns and improvised protection for the crew.
Finish the running gear and the hull detail before closing up. Glue the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic. After the base coat, apply an olive shade, bring out the machine guns with a metal tone and add the pronounced mud and dust effects typical of the Vietnamese setting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
