An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M1 Abrams main battle tank in the IP (Improved Performance) version in 1:35 scale. It is a conventional armored vehicle model to be glued and painted. The model captures the early, transitional variant of the Abrams.
The M1 IP (Improved Performance) was a briefly produced transitional type of the American M1 Abrams tank from the middle of the 1980s, which formed a bridge between the original M1 and the later M1A1. Compared with later versions it carried a 105 mm gun (not the later 120 mm) and brought a new, longer turret with thicker frontal armor and further partial improvements. It is therefore an interesting early form of one of the best known tanks of the Cold War.
With armor it pays to assemble and paint the running gear and any interior before the hull is closed. Glue the joints with liquid cement for plastic and photo-etched elements with super glue (cyanoacrylate). After the base coat (primer) and the airbrush, washes and pigments for mud and dust effects and for emphasizing the rivets and the detail come out well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
