An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M1126 Stryker wheeled armored personnel carrier in the ICV version, in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the eight-wheel chassis with an angular armored hull and a remote weapon station on the roof. According to the manufacturer the box contains richly broken-up plastic parts and a photo-etched fret for the fine details such as the screens and the tie-down fittings.
The M1126 Stryker ICV is an American wheeled armored personnel carrier in the 8x8 configuration derived from the LAV III design, and thus from the MOWAG Piranha family. The ICV version carries an infantry squad, giving it protection and fire support from a remote weapon station. The real vehicle is characterized by its high road mobility, its strategic transportability and its modular concept, thanks to which a whole family of derived vehicles came about. The Stryker became the backbone of the US Army's light brigade formations.
Work from the chassis and the axles, then finish the hull and the weapon station. Use thin cement for plastic and bond the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting and spray the paints with an airbrush. Leave the rubber tires in a matte shade with dust around the circumference; you bring out the detail of the vehicle with dark washes and fine dust pigments on the running gear and the lower hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
