An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M1132 Engineer Squad Vehicle, an engineer wheeled armored vehicle of the Stryker family, in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the version fitted with a front Surface Mine Plow for clearing mines and marking lanes. The package holds parts for the hull, the running gear and the working equipment, and a decal sheet, together with small photo-etched parts. The M1132 Engineer Squad Vehicle (ESV) is the engineer variant of the eight-wheeled Stryker armored vehicle of the US Army. It serves to carry and support engineer squads directly in combat: it removes obstacles, marks safe lanes and carries equipment for work on the battlefield. The characteristic feature is precisely the front plow for surface mine clearing; the vehicle tends to be rounded out with further engineer equipment. The Stryker as a whole puts the emphasis on strategic transportability and speed of deployment.
With a wheeled vehicle, take care over correct seating of the axles and the rubber tires, so that the model stands level on all its wheels. Assemble the mine plow so that it can if need be be shown in the stowed as well as the working position. Bend the photo-etched parts over an edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Bring the base desert or green shade to life with a wash and dry-brushing; weather the plow and the underside more strongly with dust and mud pigments, because they are in direct contact with the ground.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
