An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Takom. The real subject is the American M247 Sergeant York self-propelled anti-aircraft system. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The M247 Sergeant York was created in the American program for self-propelled anti-aircraft machines at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s. In design it is the chassis of a medium tank of the M48 family with a new, markedly angular rotating turret, in which a pair of 40 mm automatic cannons and radar equipment for searching and tracking a target are housed. The program was accompanied by difficulties in meeting the required parameters and was ended in the middle of the 1980s before the machine went through general introduction into service. For modelers the result is an unusually shaped machine that cannot be confused with anything else in a display case.
Proceed as with other tracked machines: first finish and paint the running gear and the internal parts that will stay inaccessible once the hull is closed up. Complete and paint the tracks separately and fit them only onto a finished chassis. Spray the base shade over a primer and pick out the panel and rivet details with a thin wash. Build the mud and dust effects with pigments from the lower areas upwards, and the higher up, the less. Leave the barrels of the cannons and the radar covers cleaner than the rest of the machine, because the contrast looks natural.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
