About product

M3 Stuart — the very first production (1:35)

An injection-molded plastic kit of the American light tank M3 Stuart in 1:35 scale, in the form of the very first (initial) production series. The model captures the early shape of this widespread Allied light tank. Check the actual package contents, the number of parts and the marking options against the manufacturer's information.

The real subject

The M3 Stuart was an American light tank widely used by the Allies from the beginning of the Second World War. It stood out for its good mobility, the riveted hull structure of the early series and its main armament of a 37 mm gun backed up by machine guns. Besides the US Army it was also used by the British, with whom it earned the nickname Honey for its reliability. The early production series differed from the later ones in details of the hull and the turret.

Building and painting tips

Cut the parts from the sprues and bond them with liquid cement for plastic. Paint and assemble the running gear and any interior before you close the hull. Apply a primer before painting and cover with an airbrush. Once the base color is on, bring out the details with a wash and add mud and dust effects with pigments for a faithful patina.

Who the model is for

  • Collectors of American and Allied armored vehicles of the Second World War
  • Modelers with experience of building tanks in 1:35 scale
  • Those interested in the early production variants of the Stuart light tank

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
