This is a modeling accessory, not a model in its own right. The set holds individual assemblable track links cast in white metal, which are joined with the enclosed wire into a working track. It reproduces the T142 type of track with replaceable rubber pads. Metal tracks replace the plastic or vinyl tracks from an ordinary kit and give a realistic weight and sag.
The M48 and the M60 are American main battle tanks of the Cold War, and the M88 is a heavy tracked recovery vehicle built on a related chassis. The vehicles used the T142 type of track with replaceable rubber pads, which this set reproduces faithfully.
The links are cleaned of casting remains, assembled with the enclosed wire and can be left to sag slightly. The metal is treated with a primer before painting, and the tracks are then painted and weathered; the rubber pads can be set apart with a darker shade.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a model in its own right. It does not hold the vehicle, glue or paints.
