This is an accessory set in 1:35, not a kit of the tank. It completes a model of the M4A2 Sherman medium tank with equipment and cargo matching the deployment in the Pacific at the turn of 1943 and 1944. It is made by the Czech brand Black Dog, which has long worked on cargo, kit and conversions for models of ground vehicles.
The M4A2 was the version of the Sherman with a welded hull and a pair of diesel engines. The US Army preferred the gasoline forms, so the M4A2 went mainly to the Marine Corps and into deliveries to the Allies. It was exactly with the Marine Corps that the machines came to one of the hardest landings of the whole war, on the islet of Betio on Tarawa Atoll in November 1943. Fighting over a few hundred meters of coral sand showed how essential cooperation with the infantry is for tanks and how merciless the sea is when they are put ashore in water that is too deep. The vehicles that fought their way onto the beach had their hulls covered with cargo, kit and improvised protection.
On Pacific machines the typical thing is the contrast between a dark base color and light coral dust that settles in every gap. Arrange the cargo so that it does not cover the hatches and the steps, since it is their surroundings that tend to be the most worn. A fine chipping of the edges, faded upper surfaces and dry light dust on the running gear will give the model a Pacific character at once.
