This is an injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Italian brand Italeri. The model captures the American M4A3 Sherman medium tank in the version with a gun of 76 mm caliber and the so-called wet stowage of ammunition (Wet).
The Wet designation came from a modification of the stowage of the ammunition introduced in 1944, which was to reduce the risk of fire and of the ammunition of tanks that were hit exploding. The cartridge cases were placed in compartments cooled by a solution based on propylene glycol, hence the nickname Wet. The stronger gun of 76 mm caliber improved the antiarmor capability of the Sherman. This variant was widely deployed in the closing phase of the fighting in the European theater.
Finish and paint the running gear before you close the hull up. Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement, and give heightened attention to the seating of the tracks and the road wheels. After the base coat with an airbrush, bring the surface to life with washes and pigments for mud and dust effects. Finally unify the surface with a matte varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
