An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M7 Priest self-propelled howitzer in 1:35 scale from Academy. The model captures the open-topped tracked gun built on a tank chassis with the howitzer at the front of the hull. The box contains parts for building the hull, the running gear and the armament; check the exact decal schemes against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The M7 Priest was an American self-propelled howitzer of the Second World War. On the chassis of a medium tank it carried a 105 mm howitzer in an open superstructure and gave mechanized units mobile artillery support that could keep up with advancing tanks. The nickname Priest arose from the raised cylindrical machine gun position that resembled a pulpit. The vehicle proved itself in North Africa, in Italy and in Western Europe.
An open fighting superstructure means the interior and the howitzer are clearly visible, so paint them and pick them out before finishing the hull, just as with the running gear. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Once the olive shade and the varnish are on, bring out the details with a wash and add dust and mud pigments on the tracks and the lower hull for realistic weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
