The Mercedes-Benz 1500 was a German light cargo and cross-country vehicle of the period of the Second World War, deployed in many roles. In winter conditions, for example on the Eastern Front, the crews draped the engine compartment with a canvas to protect the unit from frost. Such insulation is typical of period photographs.
Wash the mold release agent off the part, cut off the casting block and clean the mating surfaces up. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and do the sanding with respiratory protection. Pick the fabric texture of the canvas out with a base coat and a dry brush; fine-tune the creases with a wash and a light dusting of pigments.
