The real subject

The Merkava is an Israeli main battle tank and the Namer is a heavy armored personnel carrier built on its chassis. They therefore have their road wheels in common, and one set will thus serve both subjects. On a model these are parts that are visible along the whole length of the side, especially if you are building the vehicle without side covers or with them partly removed.

What corrected wheels means

The name designates the set as corrected: it offers wheels in the pressed steel rendering, that is in a particular construction variant, and it is aimed at Meng kits. Anyone who wants the shape of the wheel to be accurate and identical on both sides will exchange them for the parts from the kit. Because a particular range of kits is reckoned with, the seating on the axles tends to be straightforward too. The intervention moreover concerns only the wheels; the rest of the chassis you build according to the kit instructions.

Building and painting tips

• Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
• Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder flat.
• Fit the wheels dry and level them into one plane, otherwise the model will not stand straight.
• Paint the wheels before you fit the tracks; afterward they are hard to reach.
• Distinguish the rubber tires with a darker shade from the metal part of the wheel.
• Super glue proves itself for joining them to the model.
