A set of assemblable metal tracks cast in white metal from the manufacturer Friulmodel in 1:35 scale. The individual links are joined with wire pins into a workable track, which faithfully replaces the rubber or plastic tracks from the box on the model of the German heavy self-propelled siege mortar Karl-Gerät in the late standard. The greater weight of the metal also creates a realistic sag of the track over the road wheels naturally. It is not a model but a detail accessory for advanced modelers.
The Karl-Gerät 040/041 was a German self-propelled siege mortar of exceptional caliber from the Second World War period, put into action against heavily fortified targets. Because of its enormous weight it ran on a wide tracked chassis, and its running surface is one of the characteristic features of the subject. The Late designation matches the later type of link.
Clean any casting flash off the links with a needle file. For assembly you need pliers, a file and a pin vise with a bit for threading the connecting pins through. Before the model is glued we recommend dry-fitting the tracks and checking the sag. Degrease the metal before painting and lay on a primer suited to metal.
This is a metal detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
