This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker IBG Models captures the Italian Obice da 100/17 Mod.16 field howitzer, the Italian version of the Skoda howitzer of 100 mm caliber. The set offers an optional form of the barrel. The model is supplied as a set of parts to be assembled and painted.
The howitzer of 100 mm caliber was one of the basic howitzers of the Italian army. In its original version it carried the designation Mod.14, and during the First World War a modernized Mod.16 version came about, differing above all in a reworked protective shield. The weapon grew out of the proven design of the Skoda howitzer and stayed in Italian service in the Second World War as well.
Assemble the carriage and the wheel set carefully, so that the howitzer stands steadily; pay attention to the choice of barrel according to the version you have picked. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, and separate the fine parts with a sharp knife. Spraying a base coat and using an airbrush have proved themselves; you will bring the Italian earthy shades to life with a wash into the recesses and dust pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
