ELEFANT 1:35 one-piece brake cooling air intakes for the Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. J to N, eight pieces are a resin replacement for the built-up plastic parts from a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Eight one-piece castings of the brake cooling air intake in 1:35 scale for models of the German Pz.Kpfw. III medium tank in the Ausf. J to N versions. It is not a kit but an accessory that replaces the corresponding element on the front of the hull. The main advantage is in the name: the part is cast in one piece, so building it up from several plastic walls falls away and with it the seam that is hard to sand in that place.
The Pz.Kpfw. III was one of the basic German medium tanks, and its later versions differ from the early ones among other things in changes to the front of the hull and in the brake cooling. The intake elements on the upper front plate are clearly visible, they sit in the line of sight on a model and their shape is among the details by which the versions are told apart.
Cut the original plastic parts off and level the surface, so that the casting seats without a gap. Check the symmetry of the two sides; asymmetry on the front of the hull shows at once. Wash and degrease the castings before gluing; they are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin base coat, so that the fine edges of the opening are not filled. When painting, leave the inside of the intake darker than the surrounding armor; the depth then looks convincing even without extra shading. Dust and mud collect in these places, so a light dusting of the lower edge will make the scene believable.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
