An injection-molded plastic kit of the German medium tank Panther Ausf.D (Sd.Kfz.171) in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. The package contains one-piece belt tracks, two tank crew figures and decals for several vehicles from the fighting at Kursk. The model faithfully captures the specific marks of the early Ausf.D version and offers the pleasant, well-fitting build typical of Tamiya.
The Panther was a German medium tank of the Second World War that combined a powerful long-barreled 75 mm gun, sloped armor and good mobility thanks to a powerful gasoline engine. The Ausf.D was the first production version and was first used in numbers at the Battle of Kursk in the summer of 1943. Among the marks of the early version are the smoke dischargers on the sides of the turret and the early design of the commander cupola.
Work with thin cement for plastic. Assemble the belt tracks and fit them to the running gear, which should be finished and painted before the final spraying of the hull. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. On German tanks from the summer of 1943 a dark yellow base with a three-color camouflage works well; finish the weathering with washes and pigments and do not forget to dust the running gear and the side plates.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
