A set of resin rivets in 1:35 scale from the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. The figure in the name gives the diameter of the rivet head in millimeters, here 0.5 mm. It is not a kit but a detail accessory with which a model that is already built, or a part made by your own efforts, is fitted out. Rivets are among the details that decide whether a model reads convincingly from close up.
A diameter of 0.5 mm is the finest in this range and in 1:35 scale corresponds to roughly seventeen and a half millimeters on the real machine. That is a size usual for sheet metal covers, fenders, tanks, pipe flanges, bodies and interior panels. The set also suits places where riveting is removed while sanding seams and has to be put back, or where you are building a part of your own out of plastic section and want to give it a technical look.
The rivets are very small, so work over a surface with a raised edge and with fine tweezers. Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water before starting. Mark the spacing out beforehand with a scribed line or a strip of masking tape, as regularity is the most important thing with riveting. Pick a drop of cyanoacrylate glue up with a toothpick and apply it to the model. Once dry, even the surface out with a primer. When weathering, let a darker shade run around the heads, so that every rivet casts a shadow of its own.
The set is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
