This is an accessory set, not a vehicle model. On a tracked machine, the road wheel is a part that repeats many times over and is always on view, because it sits at the viewer's eye level. Against a plastic part, a resin casting has a sharper rendering and above all no mold parting seam that would have to be removed from a circular part. That job is among the most tiresome on a tracked vehicle, because it repeats on every wheel. The set covers two related machines, because the self-propelled howitzer is based on the same chassis.
The MT-LB is a Soviet light tracked armored personnel carrier, built as a universal chassis: it carried infantry, towed guns and served as the basis for a range of derived machines. It has a low silhouette, is amphibious and suits soft ground, because its wide tracks give a low ground pressure. The Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer is based on it and carries a 122 millimeter gun in a turret.
The set is for modelers of Soviet and Eastern vehicles who are finishing off the running gear. Working with resin is not difficult, but it differs from plastic and calls for a different glue and a different preparation.
It is not a vehicle model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
