The 5V28 missile on the 5P72 launcher in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter - a plastic model of the Soviet long-range S-200 surface-to-air missile system, known in NATO code as the SA-5 Gammon.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic model from Trumpeter captures the Soviet long-range S-200 surface-to-air missile system, which NATO listed under the code designation SA-5 Gammon. The combination of the massive 5V28 missile and the 5P72 launcher makes an unmissable display piece even in 1:35 scale.
The S-200 system entered service with the Soviet air defenses in the 1960s as an answer to high and fast flying bombers and reconnaissance aircraft. The 5V28 missile uses a liquid-fuel rocket motor supplemented by four jettisonable solid-fuel boosters; the 5P72 launcher carries it in the ready position and trains it onto the bearing before launch. The range of the late versions of the system exceeded 200 kilometers, and the system spread to a number of other armed forces, where in places it served long after the end of the Cold War.
Even once assembled the model is considerably large, so think through its final placement in advance, and possibly a base or a simple diorama of a firing position. Glue the long cylindrical body of the missile carefully, fill and sand the joints, because curved surfaces reveal every imperfection. The contrast between the light gray missile and the darker launcher works on its own; a fine wash will accent the service hatches and the structural divisions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
