An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet self-propelled launch vehicle 9P113 (TEL) with the tactical rocket 9M21 of the 9K52 Luna-M rocket system in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. It is a large kit: the eight-wheeled ZIL-135 chassis (8x8) carries both the launch rail and the massive rocket. According to the manufacturer the box holds a well-worked power train and drive train, rubber tires, clear parts for the cab glazing, a photo-etched sheet and decals.
The 9K52 Luna-M, in Western designation FROG-7, was a Soviet tactical rocket system introduced in the middle of the 1960s. The unguided ballistic rocket 9M21 was launched from the wheeled vehicle 9P113 of the TEL type, a transporter-erector-launcher, which carried the rocket, raised it into the firing position and launched it. The system served to destroy targets deep in the enemy rear and could carry various types of warhead. The eight-wheeled chassis gave it good cross-country mobility.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). On a vehicle this large, assemble and paint the power train and the chassis before you fit the superstructure; it is practical to paint the rocket separately and fit it last. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush in thin coats. For the patina use washes to pick out the details and pigments for dust and mud on the wheels and the underside of the vehicle.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
