The model is glued together and painted. Check the actual package contents, the number of parts, the material of the tracks and the number of marking options on the box.
The T-72B3 is the Russian modernization of the T-72B tank, introduced from the start of the last decade. It concentrates mainly on the fire control system and the observation equipment: the machine was given a new commander's and gunner's sight with a thermal channel, upgraded electronics, a revised power pack and additional protection. The reactive armor elements designated 4S24 are fitted into flat containers; in the so-called soft version they sit in flexible casings, which are distributed along the sides of the hull and on the turret as well. Slat panels are added above all at the rear and on the sides as protection against the shaped-charge warheads of hand-held anti-tank weapons. The resulting silhouette, with irregularly clad sides and cage panels, is characteristic of the modernized machines of recent years and offers a rewarding subject for weathering.
First finish the running gear, the wheels and the lower areas of the hull and paint them, because once the containers and the panels are in place you will not reach them. Glue the reactive armor containers according to the diagram in the instructions and watch the symmetry of the two sides. Spray the panels from several directions so that the paint gets through the mesh. Fit the tracks after the base coat and weather them separately. Lighten the base green shade across the panels, pick out the joints and the hatches with a dark wash and carefully pull the edges out with a dry brush. Dust pigments belong on the lower part of the hull, the running gear and the rear fenders; oil traces under the engine hatches will give the model a realistic hint of service use.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
