The T-80 series is of Soviet and later Russian origin, and it differs from the other tanks of the same generation above all in its gas turbine drive, which gives the vehicle a high power-to-weight ratio and a characteristic sound. The version designated T-80UE-1 is among the later modernizations of the series, in which elements of older production vehicles are combined with equipment matching the T-80U standard. The vehicle has the classic layout with the turret in the middle of the hull, a gun of 125 mm caliber with an autoloader, a remotely controlled antiaircraft machine gun at the commander's hatch and blocks of reactive armor on the front of the hull as well as the turret.
Finish the running gear first, and everything that becomes inaccessible once the hull is closed. It is practical to paint the wheels and the tracks separately and to fit them only once they have dried. Sand the edges of the reactive armor blocks down slightly, so that they do not look like a casting. After the base coat, a filter that unifies the tone is suitable, then a wash into the recesses around the hatches, the bolts and the hinges. Lay the dust and mud on with pigments from the bottom of the hull upward and in the places where they would really hold in service. Suggest the wear on the handles and the step surfaces only sparingly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
