The export version was presented to the public in a coloring that differs markedly from the production vehicles. The set carries two sheets of pieces matching precisely this appearance, so the result will not be just generic camouflage but one particular machine from one particular presentation.
The upgraded export variant received a new welded turret, a remotely controlled weapon station on the roof and a fire control system with a digital core. Conspicuous are the side covers and the slat armor at the rear, which are meant to catch shaped-charge projectiles before they reach the hull. It showed itself for the first time at the arms expo in 2011.
It is precisely the slat armor and the soft side skirts that cause the greatest trouble when masking, because a piece will not seat on them over its whole area. The surest procedure is to spray the pattern onto the main armored surfaces before you attach these fittings, and to fit them only once painted. Where that is not possible, press the edge of the piece into the recesses with a bristle brush and check the adhesion against the light.
The weathering is chosen carefully with this pattern: a heavy layer of dust would knock down the difference between the fields and all the work with the pieces would come to nothing. Neither paints nor a kit of the tank are supplied.
