PANZER ART RE35-196 sand armor for the M3 Grant is a resin accessory set in 1:35 with improvised protection in the North African configuration.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory set from the Polish maker PANZER ART in 1:35 scale. It represents the improvised added protection that crews fitted to tanks in North Africa. It is not a vehicle kit: the parts are added to an already built model of the British version of the American medium tank, the one that was called the Grant. A resin casting handles the irregular, rough surface of such an improvisation far better than a plastic molding.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears from them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and true the surface; protect your airways when sanding resin. Before you start gluing, try dry how the parts seat on the model and fill any gap with putty, so that it looks like part of the improvisation. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Leave the added protection a shade different from the hull; in the field an improvisation never matched the original paint exactly.
For modelers who build Allied vehicles of the North African Campaign, and for diorama makers, where a field improvisation adds credibility to a scene. The work assumes basic experience with resin.
The set is an accessory, not a vehicle kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
