A resin replacement of the rounded Saukopf gun mantlet with rendered casting marks for the German StuG III and StuG IV assault guns in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. It is not a vehicle kit but a detail accessory, which replaces the plastic part and adds the faithful texture of a cast surface.
The Saukopfblende, nicknamed the pig's head in Czech, was the cast rounded gun mantlet used on the late StuG III and StuG IV assault guns. Its shape deflected hits better than the earlier angular box mantlet. The cast surface carried the characteristic marks of the mold and the casting, which this set renders.
Wash the mold release agent off the part, cut off the casting block and clean the mating surface up. Bond with super glue, and do the sanding with respiratory protection. You will pick the cast texture out with a primer and a fine dry brush, which draws out the relief of the surface.
The accessory does not contain the model itself, nor glue or paints. It is meant for completing an existing kit.
