A set of self-adhesive masking templates 1:35 Sd.Kfz. 181 Tiger I from the manufacturer SX-Art. An accessory for the kit of the heavy tank, not the model itself.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks in 1:35 scale for the heavy tank Sd.Kfz. 181 Tiger I. It is not a kit, but a masking accessory that is laid on a part-built model and makes it possible to spray crisp transitions between colors without cutting tape by hand. The thin film adapts to the curves of the parts and leaves no adhesive when it is peeled off.
Sd.Kfz. 181 is the military designation of the heavy tank Tiger I. The vehicle had an angular welded hull, a gun of 8.8 cm caliber and running gear with interleaved road wheels on torsion bars. It is exactly those wheels that make painting this type a long job: the rubber tire bands have to be separated from the metal disc, there are many wheels and they are tucked into one another. For a modeler it is therefore mainly a matter of patience and of a clean edge between the color of the rubber and the color of the disc.
Paint the running gear before you cover it with the fenders and the side skirts, because afterwards you will not reach it. Let the base coat cure thoroughly, otherwise the mask will tear the paint away when peeled off. Carry the mask with tweezers, press it down around the edge with a toothpick and spray thin coats. Spray the rubber tire bands in dark gray, not in pure black. After unmasking, a light picking out of the recesses with a wash and fine dust with a pigment suit it well, so that the tire bands do not look new.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
