A complete wheel set including a spare for the German heavy armored car Sd.Kfz. 234 by Pimp My Miniatures. The tires have a trodden patch, that is, the shape the rubber takes under the weight of a standing vehicle. On an eight-wheeled chassis this detail appears eight times over, so it tells on the result more than on lighter machines. The tread matches the pattern listed as the first type.
The Sd.Kfz. 234 came about as the successor to the older eight-wheelers and from the start allowed for the African battlefield. It therefore received an air-cooled Tatra twelve-cylinder diesel, which did not require keeping an eye on the level of coolant in the heat. Before production got up to speed, however, the fighting in Africa ended, and so the vehicles served mainly on the Eastern Front and in Normandy. The hull was self-supporting, without a conventional frame, all the wheels were driven and steered, and a second driving position at the rear made it possible to escape an ambush without turning around.
Eight wheels mean eight contact points, which have to be in the same plane. So glue the chassis on a flat board and try standing the finished vehicle on glass to see whether it rocks. Grade the dusting from the bottom upwards and keep the spare different from the rest, so that it does not look like a production copy.
The base kit and painting materials are not supplied with the package.
