This injection-molded kit covers a light half-track armored personnel carrier in the Ausf.A version, that is in the angular early form of the hull. For ground vehicles 1:35 is the most widespread scale and offers plenty of room for the interior, the equipment and, if you wish, figures from other sets.
The Sd.Kfz. 250 was built on the shortened chassis of a light half-track tractor and from the early 1940s served for reconnaissance, communications, fire direction and for carrying small infantry parties. Thanks to its low weight it was more agile than the larger half-tracks and a great many purpose-built conversions came out of it. You will know the early version by the segmented hull made up of flat armor plates.
The running gear is among the most laborious areas, so set aside time for arranging the wheels and tensioning the tracks, and let the glued assembly cure thoroughly. Finish and shade the interior before you close the hull, because the open compartment gives a view inside. Build the dusty and muddy effects up in layers from the bottom upward using washes and pigments.
The kit is neither painted nor glued, and paints and glue are not included.
