The 1:35 Sd.Kfz. 7 wheel masking set from Quickwheel separates the rubber from the rim while you paint the wheels of the half-track tractor. The cutouts are cut for the wheels from the Dragon kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is a masking aid, not a kit. The self-adhesive masks stick onto the wheel, cover the rim and leave the rubber exposed, so you can then spray it in one go. The color border forms along the edge of the cutout. The set is prepared for the wheels from the Dragon kit.
Now and then the edge of a mask lifts, or the mask shifts while you spray. Usually one of three things is to blame, and all of them can be dealt with. The first is grease: plastic often comes out of the mold coated with release agent, and even a fingerprint is enough to stop the adhesive from gripping. Wash the wheel in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap before masking and let it dry completely. The second is an uncured base. A primer that is still curing will not let the mask bond, and when you peel the mask off it tears the paint away as well, so it pays to wait longer than the paint label says. The third is dust left over from sanding, which only a soft brush removes reliably, never blowing. If the mask still refuses to hold, lift it off, press the edge down again with a wooden toothpick and lay down only a very light locking coat of the base color first, which seals the edge.
Do the wheels as a batch, off the chassis. Apply the paint thinly and square to the wheel, not at an angle under the edge of the mask. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has flashed off.
The package holds masking masks, not model parts. Paints, thinners and glue are not part of the delivery.
