The Sd.Kfz.135/1 15cm sFH 13/1 on the Lorraine Schlepper chassis 1:35 from RPM is a plastic kit of the German self-propelled gun built on a captured French chassis.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer RPM captures the German Sd.Kfz.135/1 self-propelled gun, in which the heavy 15cm sFH 13/1 field howitzer was mounted on the chassis of the captured French Lorraine Schlepper 37L artillery tractor. The model is supplied as a set of parts to be assembled and painted.
After the fall of France in 1940 the Germans used their stock of captured Lorraine 37L tracked tractors as the basis for a number of improvised self-propelled weapons. The version with a 150 mm howitzer gave infantry units mobile fire support. The open superstructure carried the gun at the rear of the hull and the crew was protected only by a light armored shield. The Wehrmacht used the vehicles above all on the Western Front and in Normandy.
It is advisable to finish the running gear and the interior of the fighting compartment before closing the hull. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and fill and sand the joints if necessary. An airbrush and a primer both work well. Mud and dust effects added as weathering with washes and pigments will underline the field character of the vehicle.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
