An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer MiniArt. It is a very detailed model of the eight-wheeled armored car Sd.Kfz.234/2 Puma with a rotating turret and a 50 mm KwK 39 L/60 gun. The package contains photo-etched parts, clear plastic parts and a decal sheet for several marking variants; the hatches and vision ports can be built in the open as well as the closed position. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Puma was the peak of the range of German heavy armored cars of the Second World War. The eight-wheel chassis with all-wheel drive gave it excellent mobility and steering from both ends, so it could reverse as fast as it drove forward. The rotating turret with its 50 mm gun made it an unusually heavily armed reconnaissance vehicle, able to threaten even lighter armored equipment of the enemy. It was used by reconnaissance units on the Eastern and the Western Front until the end of the war.
With armored equipment, finish and paint the running gear and any interior before you close up the hull, as the fine parts are hard to reach later. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and the photo-etched accessories with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer and paint with an airbrush; the later three-color camouflage pattern is typical (a yellow base with brown and green stripes). Accentuate the recesses and the riveting with a dark wash, the edges with a dry brush, and dust the underside of the vehicle with dust and mud pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
