This is a set of white metal tracks in 1:35 scale from Friulmodel. It is not a model but a detail accessory: the individual metal links are joined with the supplied wire pins into a fully movable track. The metal construction gives the running gear a realistic weight and a natural sag that the plastic tracks from a kit cannot offer.
The set casts the British type of track used on Sherman tanks in British service, including the famous Firefly conversion. The Firefly was a Sherman rearmed with a powerful British gun, which became one of the few Allied weapons able to face the heaviest German tanks. The set faithfully captures the characteristic link of the British track and replaces the tracks from a plastic kit with it.
Clean the links of casting residue, assemble them by threading them onto the supplied wire and trim off the excess. White metal holds paint better after a base coat of metal primer has been sprayed. For a faithful look use a darker wash in the recesses and dust or mud pigments; worn metal spots can be suggested with graphite.
The set is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
