About product

SKOT-2A (OT-64) 1:35 — Armour Models

A specialized 3D-printed resin kit of the wheeled armored personnel carrier SKOT-2A from the Slovak company Armour Models in 1:35 scale. The model is produced by modern high-resolution 3D printing technology, the parts are finely detailed and intended for experienced modelers. The SKOT-2A is the variant with a rotating cupola with a heavy machine gun.

The real subject

The OT-64 SKOT is an amphibious 8x8 wheeled armored personnel carrier of joint Czechoslovak and Polish development from the turn of the 1950s and 1960s. It entered service with both armies in 1963. It combined good mobility, buoyancy and armor protection for the crew and the dismounts; the SKOT-2A version carried a turret with a heavy machine gun. The carrier saw a number of modifications and long service with the armies of the Eastern Bloc.

Building and painting tips

First wash the resin parts to remove print resin residue, separate them carefully from the print supports and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Finish the running gear and the underside before closing the hull up; you will create the weathering with washes and pigments (dust, mud).

Who the model is for

  • advanced modelers with experience of resin and 3D printing
  • fans of Czechoslovak and Polish post-war hardware
  • collectors of 8x8 wheeled carriers
  • anyone interested in less common subjects in 1:35 scale

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
