An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet multi-purpose tracked carrier MT-LB from Trumpeter. The model offers a well detailed hull with a molded lower and upper glacis, photo-etched parts and decals. The MT-LB is a low, amphibious tracked vehicle with a characteristic boat-shaped bow. Check the exact extent of the photo-etch and the number of decal options on the box.
The MT-LB (mnogotselevoy tyagach legkiy bronirovannyy) is a lightly armored amphibious carrier and prime mover developed in the USSR. Thanks to its wide tracks and low ground pressure it excels off road, in mud and in snow, which made it popular in northern regions. It served as an infantry carrier, a gun tractor, a weapons platform and as the basis of many specialized versions. The vehicle spread to a number of armies and is still in active service.
First assemble and fit the running gear and the tracks, and only then close the hull. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. A primer base and an airbrush in thin coats work well. Liven the Soviet green up with modulation and a filter, washes will bring out the details and pigments will create realistic mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
