This resin detail set from PANZER ART brings a replacement turret for the Staghound armored car with a faithfully rendered jute camouflage net. It is not a kit of the whole vehicle but an accessory meant for detailing and bringing a base model to life. The casting captures the fabric camouflage stretched over the turret just as the soldiers commonly improvised it in the field.
The Staghound was an American heavy armored car widely used in the Second World War by British and allied Commonwealth units for reconnaissance and patrol duty. The crews often covered the outline of the turret with a jute net to break up the silhouette of the vehicle and make it harder to recognize.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The relief of the fabric comes out once a base coat has been sprayed on, and it is picked out with a dry brush and fine washes.
