Idler wheels of the late variant, type 1, for the StuG III Ausf. G in 1:35 scale. The set is cut for the Dragon kit and is enough for one vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit but a detail accessory for models of the self-propelled gun StuG III Ausf. G in 1:35 scale. The set replaces the idler wheels in the late variant designated as type 1 and the contents are enough for one vehicle. The set is cut for the Dragon kit, because the maker supplies the same type of wheel in versions for kits of other brands as well, and without this information the variants could not be told apart.
The idler wheel sits at the rear of the running gear and keeps the track tensioned. Its design changed several times during the production of the StuG III, so the shape of the disc and the spokes is one of the elements by which the production batch of a vehicle is recognized. Kits as a rule offer only one guise. A casting also renders the sharp edges and the casting marks that are lost in injection-molded plastic more faithfully.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off and level the mating surface so that the wheel sits square. Before gluing, check dry that the axis matches the height of the track, otherwise the track will be unevenly tensioned at the rear. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint before the track goes on, as the wheels can then easily be painted from both sides. Finally treat the rim of the wheel with pigments and a fine metallic sheen on the contact surface with the track.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
