T-90A 1:35 – plastic kit

An injection-molded plastic model of the Russian T-90A main battle tank in 1:35 scale. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a classic plastic kit meant for gluing and spraying. The real subject

The T-90A is a modernized variant of the Russian T-90 main battle tank. It is marked by a welded turret, a 125 mm smoothbore gun of the 2A46 series, which can also fire guided anti-tank missiles, and a combination of armor protection with explosive reactive armor. The systems usually include an electro-optical countermeasures suite against guided missiles. In this form the tank entered service in the mid-2000s and became the backbone of the armored units.

Building and painting tips

With armored vehicles, first finish the running gear (road wheels, tracks) and any interior before you close the hull up – once it is glued you can no longer reach them. Spray the base color over primer and use thinned modeling paints in the airbrush. Build the weathering with washes into the recesses and pigments for mud and dust effects on the bottom of the hull and the tracks; dry brushing picks out the edges and bare metal.
