An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian main battle tank T-90A in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. It is an extensive, finely worked model with a large number of parts, photo-etched sections and additional material for a faithful rendering of a modern tank. The model is meant to be glued together and painted.
The T-90 is a Russian main battle tank developed by the design bureau in Nizhny Tagil (Uralvagonzavod). It is based on the proven T-72 series and takes over some features from the T-80 series. It carries a 125 mm smoothbore gun, a modern fire control system and Kontakt-5 reactive armor on the hull and the turret. The T-90A version is marked out by a welded turret and modernized equipment; the tank forms the backbone of the armored units of the Russian army.
Assemble the running gear first and fine-tune the fit of the hull, and only then add the photo-etched parts and the fine accessories. On a modern tank a uniform base finish with an airbrush, fine emphasis of the edges and restrained weathering with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects are recommended. Glue the reactive armor and the equipment on the turret at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
