A turned replacement part for a model of the Soviet T-10 heavy tank in 1:35 scale: a gun mantlet with the barrel of the D-25 gun. It replaces the corresponding parts of the base kit.

The accessory replaces the gun mantlet with the barrel of the D-25 gun on a model of the T-10 heavy tank in 1:35 scale. The mantlet is the movable shield in the turret front through which the barrel passes; together with the muzzle it is the place everyone looks at first on a finished model. That is exactly why it pays to reach for a more accurate rendering than the main assembly offers.
The T-10 was a postwar Soviet heavy tank that followed on from the earlier IS series of heavy machines. The D-25 is a Soviet tank gun of 122 mm caliber, also known from earlier heavy tanks; its long barrel with a prominent muzzle is characteristic of the machine's silhouette.
The turned part has an accurate circular cross section along its whole length and a clean muzzle, which is hard to achieve on a part from an ordinary kit. Dry-fit it in the turret and only then glue it, best with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); cement for polystyrene will not help here, because it bites only on polystyrene. Wash and degrease the part before painting, otherwise the paint will not take. An undercoat works well, followed by the base shade of the vehicle and finally light highlighting of the edges and the muzzle.
An accessory part is supplied. The tank model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
