An injection-molded kit of the German heavy tank Tiger I in its early version in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Rye Field Model. The set captures machines committed in the Battle of Kursk in 1943 and adds a resin figure of the well-known tank commander Michael Wittmann. The equipment includes workable tracks, a metal gun barrel and a 3D printed muzzle brake; the decals make it possible to build several machines connected with Wittmann. Check the exact contents against the instructions.
The Tiger I was one of the most feared German tanks of the Second World War. The early production versions were marked out, for example, by the cylindrical commander's cupola and by side brackets for spare track. The 8.8 cm gun and heavy armor made it an exceptionally dangerous opponent for its day. At Kursk in the summer of 1943 Tigers took part in one of the greatest tank battles in history.
Assemble the running gear and the workable tracks first, and only then close the hull. Glue the metal gun barrel and the resin figure with cyanoacrylate glue; wash the mold release residue off the resin before gluing. Apply a primer. Early Tigers at Kursk usually carried a base of dark yellow completed with green and brown stripes. The patina is finished off with a wash into the detail, dust pigments on the running gear and fine chipping of the paint on the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
