The accurate 8.8 cm KwK 36 L/56 barrel in 1:35 scale is a replacement for the plastic part on models of the Tiger I tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
The most conspicuous element of the whole tank is easily spoiled on a model by imperfect gluing of two halves. This replacement is a single piece, its bore mouth is finished and it carries an already shaped twin-chamber muzzle brake. The manufacturer recommends it for Tiger I kits from Rye Field Model, Takom and Tamiya.
The KwK 36 gun derives from the famous 88 mm anti-aircraft gun, which had already proved itself against armored vehicles during the fighting in France and North Africa. A reworked version of it, 56 calibers long, with a semi-automatic breech and very accurate optics, went into the turret of the Tiger. The combination of a flat trajectory and quality sights allowed effective fire at ranges where the opponent still had no chance to answer.
Early and late vehicles differed in the form of the muzzle brake and of the mantlet, so check against photographs of the subject you have chosen whether the shape matches. Before gluing it in, clean the seating face and set the barrel horizontal while the glue sets. After painting, pick the bore mouth out in a darker shade, otherwise it looks flat.
The delivery consists of the replacement gun only, not the tank itself.
