An injection-molded plastic model of the German Tiger I heavy tank in the Initial Production rendition from the beginning of 1943 in 1:35 scale from the Rye Field Model brand. The kit captures the early production features of the Tiger and offers workable individual track links, a richly detailed running gear and photo-etched sheet for the fine detail of the fenders, grilles and brackets.
The Tiger I (Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf.E, Sd.Kfz.181) was a German heavy tank armed with a powerful 88 mm gun, which in its day made it a greatly feared opponent. Vehicles from the initial batch of early 1943 differed from later ones in a number of details, for example the arrangement of the exhausts, the stowage of the tools and the absence of some features that were introduced only later. These early Tigers were among the first examples of the type to see action.
With armored vehicles, assemble and paint the running gear and the lower hull before you close up the upper parts. Glue the plastic parts with thin model cement and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); work patiently with the individual workable track links. Apply a primer and spray the paints with an airbrush in thin coats. You will bring the armor to life with a wash in the recesses, lightening of the surfaces and dust or mud pigments for a faithful patina.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
