A set of resin tow cable brackets for vehicles of the Pz.Kpfw. III family and the StuG III assault guns in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle kit and not a replacement for one; it is an accessory to a plastic kit that deals with a single, highly visible detail. The package holds 50 pieces, so it will cover several built models and leave a reserve for repairs.

What the part replaces on a model

Tow cables were secured on the vehicles in small brackets welded to the sides and the rear of the hull. In injection-molded plastic these brackets are either merely suggested as relief or molded with a wall thickness that the mold simply cannot make any finer. A resin casting has a section matching the real thin steel, and a cable genuinely passes through it, so that on the model a gap is visible under the bracket instead of a solid block. The shorter variant suits the places where the original bracket sits more closely against the armor.

Working with resin

The parts are small and cast on a common casting block. Separate them with a sharp scalpel or a fine photo-etch saw and never break them out; resin is brittle and will crack at a thin section. Level the remains of the casting block with a fine-grained file and degrease the surface so that the paint will hold. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); ordinary plastic cement does not dissolve resin and the joint would not hold. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
