This is not a tank model but a detail accessory. It is a precisely turned metal barrel for a model of the Japanese Type 4 Chi-To medium tank in 1:35 scale from the Japanese maker FineMolds. The metal barrel replaces the plastic part from the base kit and brings a perfectly straight profile, a sharp muzzle and a truer look to the gun.
The Type 4 Chi-To was a Japanese medium tank from the end of the Second World War, developed as a more capable successor to the older Chi-Nu. It was armed with a powerful gun and had heavier armor, but in practice it never reached series production and only a few prototypes were built. It is the long barrel of its gun that is one of the characteristic features of the real subject.
Degrease the metal barrel before gluing so that the paint holds well. It is fitted in place of the plastic part, and it pays to secure the joint with cyanoacrylate (super glue). The metal is best given a primer for metal first and only then painted with an airbrush. The gun muzzle can be brought out with a dark shade and light weathering.
This is an accessory, not a stand-alone model. The tank itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
