The plastic kit Thunder Model US Crawler Sixty (1:35): the American Caterpillar/Holt Sixty crawler tractor, also used as an artillery tractor.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the American Sixty crawler tractor in 1:35 scale from the Thunder Model brand. The model boasts a faithfully rendered running gear and engine, photo-etched parts and scale cable. It is a more extensive build that will reward a patient modeler with an exceptionally intricate machine.
The Caterpillar (formerly Holt) Sixty was a powerful crawler tractor of about 60 horsepower, built in the 1920s and 1930s. It was one of the largest tractors of its day, recognizable by its projecting radiator and open structure. Besides agriculture and construction, machines of this type also found use with armies as tractors for heavy guns and loads; some were still in service during the Second World War.
Assemble and paint the exposed engine and the running gear part by part before final assembly, as otherwise you will not reach the details later. A primer, an airbrush and emphasis of the mechanicals with a wash and a dry brush all work well. The open structure positively invites weathering with oils and pigments (grease, dust, corrosion). Glue the photo-etched parts and the cable with cyanoacrylate.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
