1:35 US generator PE-95 is a kit of the American field generator of the kind that powered radio sets and other equipment in the field.
Responsibility details are not available.
Radio sets, the lighting of a post and the charging of batteries could not do without a source of current, and that is why American units had portable generator sets in their equipment. The designation PE was used precisely for these sources and the PE-95 type belongs to the group. Plusmodel has worked it up in 1:35 scale as an accessory of its own for a scene.
The set joined a gasoline engine with a dynamo and was built so that a smaller group of men could manage to carry or load it. It was set up close to a post, but not so close that the noise would disturb the signaler's headphones. In a view it therefore comes across believably by a command tent, by a dug-in switchboard or under a canvas beside a vehicle.
Put the frame and the engine together so that the mechanical parts are visible, because it is precisely they that catch the eye on a finished piece. Tell the cylinder and the exhaust apart with a darker metallic tone and dirty them lightly with soot. An olive coat suits the whole thing, but let the base show through under it, so that the surface does not come across as flat. At the end add rubbing in the places the hands of the crew touched. Bring the small levers, taps and plates out with a thin brush, otherwise they will be lost without trace in a uniform coat.
The generator is unassembled and without a coat of paint. Paints, glue and further material are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
